We made the decision to put dad in hospice care a few days ago. He’s been in and out of the ER too many times lately, his heart failing, kidneys, shutting down etc. The only thing we can do for him now is keep him comforatable. He’s getting excellent, compassionate care.
It’s really day to day now…every day has been different. Today he even sang a little bit and his eyes were open. Otherwise, he sleeps.
As for me, I have been on this emotional roller coaster for so long with both my parents, I feel numb at this point. Numb, and tired and sad. But ready for everything that happens next.
